HEAD-TO-HEAD COMPARISONS
Longi vs Jinko
Both are high-quality N-type panels, but the difference in quality is less than what people maintain. Yet, making a decision is still important given your financial capability and the size of your rooftop.
JA Solar vs Canadian Solar
They both are Tier-1 N-Type bifacial panels, but JA Solar is cheaper. When does the extra Rs 3-4/watt of Canadian Solar justify itself?
Longi vs JA Solar
Is the premium for a brand name really worth it? Longi costs Rs 2-4/watt more. What about the typical Pakistani household? Would the efficiency gain and brand name be worth it to them?
Jinko vs Trina
Jinko is more expensive but also more popular. Trina is still a great choice as they are fully Tier 1, but they are less known. Would it be better to save Rs 2-3/watt or follow the crowd?
Canadian Solar vs Longi
Both are on the high-end side of the market. Canadian Solar’s TOPCon vs Longi’s HPBC: two entirely different N-Type technologies, similar price, very different performance.
JA Solar vs Trina Solar
The battleground for value-oriented customers. JA Solar is a little bit more efficient – but does that efficiency justify the Rs 1-2/watt price difference? Most buyers are quite surprised by the answer.

WHICH BRAND FOR YOUR SITUATION?

The real situation for most Pakistani buyers
For a 5-10 marla house, 12 ACs, and a 5-8kW hybrid system, JA Solar N-Type bifacial would be the best choice at this moment. You’re getting a real Tier-1 N-Type panel, AEDB-approved for net metering, at the lowest price point in this quality bracket. For those who want the best of the best panels and have an extra Rs 3-5/watt to spend, both Longi HiMo 7 and Jinko Tiger Neo are great choices.
FAQs
I want to get net metering. Which brands qualify?
All five brands listed on this page: Longi, Jinko, JA Solar, Canadian Solar, and Trina have been recognized by the AEDB and are eligible for net metering via DISCO. Before installation, always request your installer for the AEDB certificate and confirm the serial number on the manufacturer’s website.
Why are some panels marketed as “N-Type” at a much lower price than others?
In Pakistan, no one is surprised to find fake or misrepresented panels on the market. Some dealers offer P-Type panels while labelling them N-Type. Always scan the QR code with the serial number on the panel’s back to check on the brand’s official website. Longi, Jinko, JA Solar, Canadian Solar, and Trina all have verification portals.
Is brand more important than price per watt?
When it comes to Tier-1 certified panels, the difference in efficiency between different brands is very small (21.8%- 22.8%). That means the major challenge in Pakistan is not which brand you choose. It is whether you will be able to find a genuine panel from that brand. Make sure you verify it before installation.

If you can’t decide which panel would work best for your roof and electricity needs, give us some details about your setup, and we will suggest the right brand and system size at no cost to you.
